Eight miles south of Portland rests Riverfront-Old Town Lake Oswego. Located on the northern edge of George Rogers City Park, the Old Town neighborhood is an area of homes ranging from condos to small cottages. This neighborhood tends to be mostly condos, with some single family homes as well that is within walking distance to the business district. The condos blend well due to adequate setbacks, mature landscaping and compatible scale.
Old Town Neighborhood lies between State Street, the Willamette River, Oswego Creek and Leonard Street-it is the oldest portion of the City. George Rogers Park is located in the southern portion of the neighborhood. This area was the original site of the iron smelting business which operated in the community in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A portion of the company’s large basalt chimney still stands in the park.
