The three towers of the downtown American Plaza Towers – 200-400 S.W. First Ave. – were a striking addition to the Portland city skyline when they were completed in 1980. The buildings range from 18 to 26 stories affording residents spectacular views. The first tower, the Lincoln, is an 18-story tower built in 1972. Grant is the tallest of the three at 26 stories, completed in 1975. Madison is the newest tower, opened in 1980 at 22 stories in height. Located just south of the downtown’s main retail core and a couple blocks from the Willamette River, all the units have small balconies. This complex provides secured entries, secured parking, a pool, hot tub, sauna, and weight room. The location is convenient to Portland State University and Oregon Health Sciences University.
